When You Need Market Research
B2B market research: three moments when outbound without research is just expensive guessing.
Lead generation works when you know who you’re targeting. Most outbound campaigns fail because the team built the list before they understood the market. These are the moments where B2B market research pays for itself.
01
Entering a new geography.
You’ve sold into India for five years. Now the board wants the US. The buying culture, role titles, decision-making structure, and competitor set are all different — and “what worked here” rarely works there without proper B2B market research.
02
Validating an ICP hypothesis.
“Series B SaaS companies hiring AI engineers” sounds like an ICP. But how many actually exist in your target geography? What titles own the buying decision? Are competitors already there? B2B market research turns the hypothesis into numbers.
03
Pivoting from inbound to outbound.
Inbound brought you warm leads who self-identified. Outbound requires you to identify them first — and the personas, pain triggers, and competitor positioning your team learned from inbound usually need refreshing through targeted B2B market research.
What’s in the Brief
B2B market research delivers three outputs. One synthesis.
A B2B market research brief is not a 200-page slide deck of generic market trends. It’s a focused, decision-ready document built specifically around your ICP, geography, and competitor set.

How the Research Runs
B2B market research findings before opinions.
We deliver what the B2B market research data says, not what you want to hear. The methodology is sequenced so that the findings emerge before the recommendations — if your ICP hypothesis turns out to be wrong, the brief says so.
STEP 01
Scope
A 45-minute Project Brief call to lock the territory, vertical, ICP hypothesis, and what success looks like. We document your assumptions explicitly — so when the B2B market research findings come back, you know what was confirmed and what wasn’t.
STEP 02
Market Mapping
Identify every company in the territory matching your ICP. Cross-reference 20+ data sources — Crunchbase, PitchBook, LinkedIn, Apollo, Cognism, Y Combinator, industry directories. Segment by stage, size, funding, growth signals, and tech stack.
STEP 03
Persona Research
Map decision-makers and influencers across the mapped companies. Identify common title patterns, reporting structures, and buying-committee composition by company size. Extract pain signals from job descriptions, LinkedIn posts, and earnings call transcripts where public.
STEP 04
Competitor Analysis
Identify direct competitors, indirect alternatives, and emerging entrants in the territory. Profile pricing, positioning, customer reviews, and content strategy. Map whitespace — where their messaging is weak, where their pricing leaves gaps, where their target segment ignores yours.
STEP 05
Synthesis & Delivery
Brief delivered as a structured PDF + XLS appendices. A 30-minute walkthrough call to interpret B2B market research findings, pressure-test recommendations, and decide what to act on.

Pricing & Turnaround
B2B market research pricing: fixed-price per territory. Defined scope.
A “territory” is one geography combined with one industry vertical — for example, “Series B SaaS in California” or “IT Services on the US East Coast”. Multi-geography or multi-vertical projects are priced as multiple territories.
| Scope | Cost (INR) | Cost (USD) | Turnaround | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 territory | ₹25,000 | ~$300 | 7–10 days | Single market entry · ICP validation |
| 2 territories | ₹50,000 | ~$600 | 10–14 days | Multi-geo expansion · vertical comparison |
| 3+ territories | Custom | Custom | Custom | Annual planning · regional strategy |
WHAT EACH TERRITORY INCLUDES

- Up to 10 decision-maker personas profiled with pain triggers
- Up to 15 competitors analyzed for positioning & whitespace

From Research to Revenue
Do you need this — or can you skip to Lead Generation?
Not every team needs B2B market research before Lead Generation. The honest answer depends on how well you already know the market you’re targeting.
DO RESEARCH FIRST IF
Map before you build.
- You’re entering a new geography (US, UK, EU, GCC)
- Your ICP is a hypothesis, not a track record
- You’re shifting from inbound to outbound
- The board needs TAM/SAM validation before sales hiring
- You don’t yet know your competitors’ positioning
A ₹25K B2B market research brief often saves the cost of a wasted ₹35K Pilot in the wrong market.
You already know the market.
- You’ve sold into this geography before
- Your ICP is validated by closed-won deals
- Your sales team has working personas
- You can name your top 3 competitors and their pricing
- You just need verified contacts at known target companies
Start with a Lead Generation Pilot — ₹35,000 for 750 verified leads in 5–7 days.
Common Questions
B2B market research FAQ: what founders and BD heads ask before they commission research.
How is this different from a Gartner, Forrester, or IDC report?
Industry analyst reports are off-the-shelf, written for a generic audience, and priced from ₹5–25 lakhs. You get 200 pages of market trends and a magic quadrant — not a list of companies to target or personas to message. Our brief is bespoke: scoped to your ICP, your geography, your competitor set. You get a decision-ready document, not a market overview.
What if my ICP hypothesis turns out to be wrong?
Then the research did its job. The most valuable outcome of a Market Research Brief is often that your hypothesis pivots based on what the data actually shows. We deliver findings before opinions — if the territory doesn’t have enough companies in your ICP, or if the personas you assumed are wrong, you’ll know that in week 2. That’s far cheaper than spending three months on outbound to the wrong buyers.
What defines a “territory”?
One geography combined with one industry vertical. “Series B SaaS in California” is one territory. “Series B SaaS in California + Texas” is two territories — different competitor sets, different buyer cultures, different procurement cycles. We define the scope together on the Project Brief call before any work begins, so you’re never surprised by the bill.
Can I get just the raw company list without the personas and competitor analysis?
That’s a different service — see Lead Generation Marketing Qualified Companies (MQCs). Company-only mapping is ₹0.15 per company, with no persona research or competitor analysis. The Market Research Brief includes the synthesis — pricing comparisons, whitespace recommendations, buying-committee structure — which is what makes it a strategic document rather than a list.
Can the same research engagement flow directly into a Lead Generation project?
Yes — and most do. The territory map and persona report become the scope document for a Lead Generation Pilot or Growth project. The same senior analyst usually carries the engagement forward, so context isn’t lost. Research clients who continue into Lead Gen within 30 days of brief delivery get the Research fee credited against the Lead Gen project — ask about it on the Brief call.
